Being proactive and knowing how to use surrounding resources is nothing new to Queens, NY tattoo artist and businessman, Ace. In the last seven years, the 26 year old has built a business with just his talent, passion, and determination. I’ve been getting my tattoos done by Ace for about 3 years now and I love seeing how much hard work he puts in, it’s truly inspiring.

When Ace was in High School, his art teacher was covered in tattoos. He was already into drawing but seeing his teacher covered in art really sparked an interest. He wanted to know how he could possibly get into that. She told him where to get the supplies, he saved up as much money as he could, and from there he never looked back.

Starting a tattoo business was not hard for him. Everyone in the neighborhood already recognized him for his art, so getting his first few clients wasn’t difficult at all. He accepted tattoo requests from a lot of his friends, which in turn brought more clientele. Business began to grow fast but from day one Ace made sure to go into this with a plan.

While running a business at such a young age, Ace believes that the most important qualities to have are self control and discipline. An individual must know when it is time to get to work, because at any moment things can go downhill. Ace is fully aware of that so he works hard everyday to become a better artist and business owner. He tries very hard to not get caught up in any hype or distractions. Ace is probably one of the the most humble and grounded people that I know. His ambition runs through the roof and I look forward to seeing what the future holds for him.
